Chapter 3 - The Property Guarantee

Liliana slowly lowered her phone. She didn't help Thomas. She simply glared at the husband who had just tried to murder her, her eyes radiating a lethal, unbreakable resolve.

She tapped the screen of her phone, illuminating a highly secure banking notification.

“Liliana, your authorization is required to complete the property guarantee.”

The cinematic realization crashed over the entire room. Thomas was drowning in millions of dollars of illicit gambling debt to a ruthless underground syndicate. He had secretly forged Liliana's signature to use her massive, multi-million-dollar inherited estate as collateral to save his own life.

But the bank required her biometric authorization from her personal device to finalize the transfer.

Thomas needed her incapacitated. He needed her unconscious or dead so he could unlock her phone with her face, authorize the transfer, and steal her entire empire while playing the grieving husband.

But Liliana wasn't a gullible victim. She had noticed his frantic, nervous behavior all afternoon. She had seen him slipping a liquid vial into her soup bowl in the kitchen.
