Chapter 65 - the invisible snare

The Obsidian hackers greedily continued their digital assault, completely unaware they were being brilliantly outmaneuvered. As they bypassed Harper's intentionally weakened secondary firewall, the rogue algorithm flooded into a trap.
It was a highly contained, isolated server mimicking the conglomerate's primary offshore bank accounts and shipping controls. The Syndicate thought they had finally won the war. Instead, the trap snapped shut with devastating, catastrophic finality.
Harper’s viral counter-code didn't just lock the enemy virus out; it violently surged back through its own connection. It systematically overloaded and destroyed the expensive hardware of the Syndicate's network in mere seconds.
The lead hacker announced with absolute, triumphant authority that they had found the physical location. The authentication server was located on a fortified, decommissioned naval fortress hidden deep in the freezing Baltic Sea.
