Chapter 1 - The Shattered Porcelain

The deafening crack of shattering porcelain echoed through the opulent, dead-silent study. Dark, scalding coffee splattered across the polished marble floors, staining the pristine white rug. Dante, the most feared syndicate boss in the city, stood frozen behind his massive dark wood desk. His hand was still hovering in the air, right where his coffee cup had been a split second before.
Standing right in front of him, breathing heavily, was three-year-old Lucia. The tiny girl in a pink floral dress had sprinted into the room out of nowhere and violently slapped the cup right out of the terrifying billionaire’s hand. She stood there, trembling, clutching a small stuffed lamb to her chest.
"Lucia! No!"
The frantic, terrified scream tore through the room as Elena, the estate’s 29-year-old housekeeper, rushed through the heavy oak doors. She was wearing her simple grey uniform with a white collar, her face entirely drained of blood. She knew exactly who Dante was. She knew exactly what happened to people who disrespected him. And her toddler had just assaulted him in his private sanctuary.
Elena dropped to her knees on the marble floor, frantically trying to wipe up the burning hot coffee with her bare hands, tears welling in her eyes. But Dante didn't yell. He didn't call for his armed guards.
