Chapter 10 - The Ultimate Feast

Six months later, the beautiful house was completely transformed into a true sanctuary of peace and love.

Dorothy didn't live alone in the dark. She opened her massive home to her closest friends, hosting beautiful, warm dinner parties every single weekend. She volunteered at a local community center, using the extra space in her massive house to host charity events.

Owen was completely ruined. He was forced into bankruptcy and lived in a tiny, rundown studio apartment, working a minimum-wage job to pay off his massive gambling debts. He tried calling his mother every single day, begging for forgiveness and financial help, but Dorothy had permanently changed her phone number.

On a bright, beautiful Sunday evening, the dining room was filled with warm pendant lighting again.

But this time, the table was surrounded by Dorothy's fiercely loyal friends, laughing and sharing stories. Dorothy walked steadily out of the kitchen, wearing a beautiful new dress. She wasn't carrying the food in the shadows.

She placed a massive, flawlessly cooked dinner directly in the absolute center of her own dining table.

She had survived the absolute worst betrayal imaginable, completely dismantled the abusers in her own home, and emerged completely, undeniably victorious.
