Chapter 8 - The True Eviction

"You lost your job?!" Christa shrieked hysterically, violently shoving her kneeling husband onto the hard concrete. "You told me you got a promotion! You let me invite my parents over for a victory dinner!"
Owen curled into a pathetic ball on the driveway, weeping uncontrollably in total, undeniable disgrace.
Dorothy didn't stay to watch the toxic monsters destroy each other. She simply got into her modest sedan and started the engine. She rolled down the window and looked at her weeping son one last time.
"You have exactly thirty days to clear your belongings out of my house," Dorothy commanded coldly over the sound of the engine. "If you are not gone by the first of the month, the sheriff will physically remove you."
She put the car in drive and drove away, leaving her son and his arrogant wife screaming at each other on the dark driveway while her twelve-pound ham sat safely in the trunk.
The chaotic, toxic energy was entirely left behind.
Inside the house, Christa’s parents, Gerald and Elaine, walked out to the driveway to see what the screaming was about. They found their daughter sobbing hysterically and their son-in-law completely ruined on the pavement.
