Chapter 1 - The False Accusation

The grand luxury gala ballroom was an absolute masterpiece of cinematic wealth. Massive crystal chandeliers cast a brilliant, warm glow over the long, elegant dining tables, where the city’s most powerful elites dined in hushed reverence. But the sophisticated atmosphere of the evening was violently shattered by a sudden, piercing scream that brought the entire room to a dead halt.

"My ring is gone! He took it!"

Standing furiously at the head of the center dining table was Veronica. The stunning woman in her thirties was a vision of high-society glamour, her dark hair swept up into a flawless, sophisticated updo. She wore a breathtaking red off-the-shoulder evening gown, dripping in expensive diamond earrings, her arms encased in dramatic, elbow-length red silk gloves.

Her face was twisted into an ugly mask of sheer, unadulterated rage as she pointed a trembling, red-gloved finger directly at a young waiter standing frozen in front of her.

The waiter, a young man with dark curly hair wearing a crisp white shirt, black bowtie, and a black vest, was trembling violently. He didn't speak. He couldn't speak. He was completely deaf.

Sitting right next to Veronica, leaning back in his heavy gold chair, was Silas. The handsome, heavily muscular man in his late thirties possessed a terrifying, lethal aura. He wore a tailored black suit with a white shirt unbuttoned at the top, exposing the dark, intricate syndicate tattoos that crawled up his neck and across his knuckles. Silas didn't yell. He didn't jump to defend his fiancée. He simply sat there, watching the scene unfold with slow, cold, calculating eye movement.
