Chapter 5 - The Silent Confession

The cinematic tension in the grand ballroom was absolutely paralyzing. The soft glow of the warm candlelight flickered across the faces of the terrified staff and the cold, unyielding mafia boss.
Silas slowly placed his hands flat on the white tablecloth. He watched Leo closely.
The young deaf waiter took a deep, shaky breath. He looked at Silas, realizing this terrifying man was actually giving him a chance to speak. With frantic, desperate, but incredibly clear movements, Leo raised his hands and began to rapidly use sign language.
Elena watched his hands carefully. As she processed the signs, her realistic facial micro-expressions shifted from profound anxiety to sheer, unadulterated shock.
Her eyes widened, darting nervously toward Veronica's red silk gloves.
Silas slowly stood up from the dining table. The sheer physical presence of his muscular frame towering over the table made the surrounding guests hold their breath. He looked intently at the waitress and the deaf waiter.
"Translate his answer," Silas commanded firmly.
Elena hesitated. She was just a waitress. If she translated this correctly, she would be directly accusing the fiancée of the most dangerous, ruthless crime lord in the country of staging a multi-million-dollar fraud. If she was wrong, she would be killed.

"Silas, she's going to lie!" Veronica shrieked, her voice cracking with pure desperation.
👉 Silas completely ignored his fiancée, locking his eyes on the waitress, waiting for the words that would trigger an apocalypse.
