Chapter 10 - The Peaceful Lake

Sienna was forcefully shoved into the back seat of the SUV by her terrified father. They didn't get to enjoy a luxurious, three-week lakeside vacation. They aggressively sped down the gravel driveway, completely fleeing the property as their multi-million-dollar scam entirely unraveled in a single afternoon.
Six months later, Sienna and her parents were officially indicted in federal court for massive wire fraud. To avoid prison time, Sienna was forced to sign a total surrender in the divorce, walking away with absolutely nothing. Without Mark's money to pay for elite lawyers, she was completely defenseless, moving into a tiny, rundown apartment and completely alienated from her high-society friends.
Mark was completely freed from the toxic marriage, entirely restoring his wealth and his peace of mind.
The beautiful rustic cabin was filled with warm, bright sunlight.
Elliot stood on the wooden porch, wearing his comfortable leather jacket. He wasn't holding a blue folder full of legal documents anymore. He was holding a fresh cup of coffee, looking out over the crystal-clear blue lake while Mark relaxed in a chair beside him.
They had survived the absolute worst emotional abuse and financial manipulation from a vicious daughter-in-law, brilliantly protected their family, and emerged completely, undeniably victorious.
