Chapter 6 - The Federal Ledger

Sienna physically staggered backward on the wooden porch, her cream-colored trousers completely wrinkling.
"What?" Sienna choked out, profound panic actively destroying her mind. "A divorce attorney? Why would he do that?!"
"Because he knows about the offshore accounts, Sienna," Elliot stated clinically, dropping the absolute execution order on her perfect life.
Sienna physically stopped breathing.
To understand the absolute magnitude of Sienna's crime, one had to look at Mark's corporate trust fund. For the last three years, Sienna had been secretly, maliciously embezzling thousands of dollars every single month from her husband's private accounts. She wasn't just buying designer handbags. She was actively laundering the stolen money directly into Beverly and Gordon's retirement funds to fund their lavish country club lifestyle.
"He knows you've been stealing from him," Elliot continued flawlessly. "My accountant audited Mark's trust fund two weeks ago. We have the complete digital trail."
Gordon, standing by the rolling suitcases in the driveway, let out a horrific gasp. His face turned violently pale.
