Chapter 4 - The Property Deed

The heavy, toxic silence on the wooden porch was absolutely deafening.
Elliot stood perfectly straight, radiating the crushing, undeniable authority of a true apex predator. He calmly flipped open the thick blue folder in his hand. He pulled out a crisp, heavy stack of legally notarized property ownership documents.
"Your husband didn't buy this property, Sienna," Elliot stated clinically, holding the heavy legal documents directly in front of her face. "He couldn't even qualify for the mortgage because you completely destroyed his credit score buying that luxury SUV you just drove up in."
Sienna physically stopped breathing. The bright, warm afternoon sunlight suddenly felt incredibly freezing.
A tight close-up captured Sienna’s arrogant expression violently vanishing. Her jaw literally unhinged as she stared directly at the top of the legally binding deed.
The name on the document wasn't her husband's. It was Elliot's.
"I bought this cabin entirely in cash," Elliot explained flawlessly, ensuring the wealthy parents standing in the driveway heard every single devastating word. "I sold my mechanic shop last month for three million dollars. I didn't tell your husband, because I knew the exact second you found out I had money, you would try to steal it."
