Chapter 14 - the steel rose
Thousands of miles away from America, at a top-secret command base deep in the jungles of Southeast Asia, Colonel Emily Carter was running an incredibly dangerous and complex hostage rescue operation.
The control room was bathed in blue light from satellite monitors. Emily wore her field combat uniform; her sharp, cold eyes and intense focus exuded the authority of a commander hardened by life-and-death experiences.
"Team Alpha, move into position 4B. Team Bravo, establish the defensive perimeter," Emily's voice rang out clearly over the radio system. There was no room for hesitation or weakness. Every decision she made impacted human lives.
Under Emily's brilliant direction and perfect tactics, the strike team successfully secured the target area, rescuing the hostages without suffering a single casualty. Another glorious victory had been achieved.
When the mission was complete, Emily took off her headset and took a sip of strong black coffee. She had no time to think about what was happening back home. She had completely severed her toxic ties to focus on protecting the nation.
