Chapter 18 - proving his worth

Throughout the campaign, Emily treated Ryan completely like any other subordinate soldier. There was no favoritism, no lenient glances. Every order was issued with the extreme strictness of a commander.

During a night patrol, Ryan's squad was suddenly fiercely ambushed by insurgents. The enemy's firepower was intense, pinning them down in a ruined, abandoned house. Radio communications were heavily jammed; the situation was extremely critical.

"Secure the left flank! Don't let them overrun us!" Ryan shouted, continuously firing and taking down enemies trying to close in. He proved his maturity and the incredible mettle of a warrior, keeping his teammates safe.

At the command center, Emily closely monitored the situation through blurry satellite feeds. She made incredibly precise decisions for air support, helping Ryan's squad break the siege and retreat safely.

Seeing her once-weak and arrogant little brother now fighting resiliently and bleeding on the battlefield, a rare spark of pride flashed in Emily's eyes. He had truly earned the badge on his chest.
