Chapter 17 - reunion on the battlefield
A year later, Ryan had completely transformed. He was no longer the arrogant rookie, but had become the most outstanding and calm sniper in the SEAL team. For the first time, his team was deployed on an international campaign.
Their mission was to protect a crucial intelligence outpost in the Middle East. When the military helicopter landed at the dusty base, Ryan and his teammates quickly grabbed their gear and headed into the central command area.
Walking into the tactical briefing room, Ryan stood at attention and saluted according to protocol. But as soon as he looked up at the senior commanding officer standing in front of the map, Ryan's heart skipped a beat.
Standing there, in a majestic and highly authoritative field combat uniform, was Colonel Emily Carter. Her sharp eyes swept over Ryan's formation without betraying a single trace of personal emotion.
"Welcome to hell, boys," Emily spoke resoundingly. "There will be no room for error on this mission."
