Chapter 11 - The silent penthouse

The massive, two-story presidential penthouse was a breathtaking sanctuary of absolute, untouchable peace. Margaret stepped out onto the expansive private balcony, the warm ocean breeze gently rustling her elegant navy linen dress. She held a crystal glass of incredibly expensive vintage red wine, gazing out at the crystal-clear turquoise water of the ocean below. She didn't shed a single tear for the toxic, ungrateful family she had just ruthlessly shattered in the lobby. Down on the second floor, Daniel sat on the edge of a cheap, lumpy mattress in his tiny standard room. He stared blankly at the peeling wallpaper, completely paralyzed by the agonizing reality of his own pathetic cowardice. He had actively chosen to abandon his screaming, disgraced wife outside the resort, but he hadn't possessed the courage to follow his mother upstairs to beg for her forgiveness. He was entirely alone, trapped in a suffocating purgatory of his own making, realizing too late that his apathy had destroyed his life. Margaret took a slow, deliberate sip of her wine. The weak, accommodating mother-in-law was permanently dead, flawlessly replaced by a terrifying corporate titan who demanded absolute respect.
👉 Margaret walked back inside the luxurious suite, entirely prepared to execute the next phase of her flawless, unapologetic revenge.
