Chapter 6 - The General Manager

"Restore my reservation?" Vanessa mocked, mimicking Margaret’s calm tone in a high-pitched, whiny voice. She turned to her friends, bursting into cruel laughter. "Who the hell is Richard? Does she think she can just demand a manager and magically get a new penthouse? The entire resort is fully booked!"

Margaret ended the call. She calmly slid her phone back into her leather handbag and snapped it shut. She didn't say a single word. She just stood perfectly still on the polished marble floor, radiating the crushing, undeniable authority of a true titan.

Less than thirty seconds later, the heavy, polished mahogany doors behind the main reception desk swung open with a sharp click.

Richard, the General Manager of the five-star resort, stepped out. He was a distinguished man in his early fifties, with neatly combed gray hair, wearing a flawless, custom-tailored charcoal suit that projected immense, absolute authority over the massive property.

Vanessa immediately puffed out her chest, preparing to use her fake, high-society status to intimidate the hotel staff.

"Excuse me! Manager!" Vanessa snapped aggressively, waving her manicured hand in the air. "I need you to deal with this woman! She is harassing my guests and throwing a tantrum over a room assignment!"

A medium shot captured Richard’s swift, deliberate movement across the lobby.

He didn't look at Vanessa. He didn't look at her three wealthy friends. He completely bypassed the arrogant daughter-in-law, his polished shoes clicking sharply against the highly reflective marble floors.
