Chapter 12 - The frozen accounts

Standing on the sweltering concrete of the resort's exterior driveway, Vanessa was completely hyperventilating. Her three arrogant, status-obsessed friends had already abandoned her, terrified of facing any legal consequences for trespassing on private property. Sweating profusely in her ruined cream designer outfit, Vanessa aggressively pulled out her husband's black premium credit card. She was absolutely determined to book a suite at a neighboring five-star hotel to salvage her shattered high-society pride and prove she was still wealthy. She flagged down a passing luxury taxi and haughtily handed the driver her card to process a massive cash advance. The digital machine beeped with a sharp, undeniable rejection. Vanessa gasped, violently snatching the machine and swiping the heavy metal card three more times. Every single transaction was viciously declined. She was completely oblivious to the fact that the moment Margaret stepped into her private elevator, she had ordered her elite wealth management team to permanently freeze every single account attached to Daniel's name. Vanessa had absolutely zero access to the vast Whitmore fortune she loved to flaunt.

👉 Vanessa collapsed onto her mountain of designer luggage, realizing with absolute horror that she was entirely stranded without a single cent.
