"You are a dead man, Marcus," Luca said smoothly. "Vanguard will tear you apart for this failure."
"Please, Luca, protect me! Hide me!" Marcus begged, clinging desperately to Luca's perfectly tailored suit pants.
Luca took a slow, deliberate step backward. "You stopped being my concern the moment you betrayed the foundation." He looked at his elite guards. "Take him to the private airstrip. Put him on a plane to Geneva. Let Vanguard deal with their own garbage."
Marcus let out a horrific, high-pitched wail of pure agony as the enforcers violently hauled him to his feet. He was entirely stripped of his wealth, his protection, and his dignity. The heavy doors slammed shut, permanently swallowing his toxic existence into violent ruin.
