Chapter 9 - The Midnight Delivery

Luca let out a long, heavy breath, running a tattooed hand over his dark hair. The intimidating, ruthless aura seemed to melt away, leaving behind a deeply exhausted man who just wanted to do the right thing.

He turned around and looked at Maya.

The young maid was still holding the metal soup ladle, her brown hair slightly messy from the intense confrontation. She looked absolutely terrified that she was still going to be punished.

Instead, Luca took off his expensive navy blue suit jacket, tossing it casually over a nearby chair. He rolled up the sleeves of his black shirt, revealing the full extent of the dark ink on his arms.

"Maya," Luca said softly, his gray eyes filled with immense respect. "Grab a cart."

Maya blinked in confusion. "Sir?"

"We have forty-three kids waiting for dinner," Luca smiled—a rare, genuine expression of warmth. "And I'm not going to let them down."

Chef Armand chuckled quietly, immediately springing into action. Within minutes, the three of them had loaded the massive stack of foil food containers onto rolling carts.

They pushed the carts out the back doors to a waiting fleet of black SUVs. Luca didn't delegate the job to his guards. He personally lifted the heavy containers into the trunk, working side-by-side with the young maid and the older Chef.
