Chapter 11 - firm steps
A month had passed since the night Dominic was overthrown. The atmosphere in the Boston estate had completely changed; the suffocation and despair were gone, replaced by an incredibly powerful and vibrant energy.
Under Tessa's dedicated guidance, Massimo's recovery progressed with miraculous speed. No longer resisting or smashing furniture, the mafia boss now adhered to every rehabilitation exercise with extreme strictness.
Every step Massimo took on the parallel bars was a fierce battle with physical pain, but Tessa's unwavering gaze was the best medicine. He was now able to walk slowly on his own with an ebony cane.
His physical strength gradually returned, bringing with it a razor-sharp intellect and absolute authority. Massimo spent hours in his office, re-establishing the entire power structure following Dominic's betrayal.
Tessa quietly brewed him a cup of coffee and placed it on the desk. "You need to rest. Excessive stress will affect the cellular regeneration process."
