The private jet touched down in Boston, where the entire foundation staff was waiting to celebrate the miraculous recovery of the cure. But Massimo and Ivy bypassed the media frenzy, driving straight to the peaceful countryside estate.
Tessa was waiting for them on the wide, wrap-around porch. She wore a simple white sweater, her face radiating a profound, absolute serenity. When she saw her husband and daughter walk up the steps unharmed, she opened her arms wide.
Ivy handed her the secure cryogenic case. "It's safe, Mom. We protected the patients."
Tessa hugged them both fiercely, her eyes shining with unshed tears of pure, overwhelming happiness. "You fought with honor, intellect, and immense compassion," she whispered. "You are the absolute best of this family."
Massimo looked at his wife, his heart completely full. "We learned from you, Tessa. You taught us that true strength isn't about the violence you can inflict, but the lives you are willing to save."
