Chapter 48 - the final eclipse
Realizing his explosive threat was empty now that federal tactical units had breached the lower floors, Silas made a desperate, suicidal lunge toward the delivery room.
He never even made it across the threshold. A deafening blast tore through the corridor as Tessa pulled the trigger of her shotgun, blasting the weapon out of Silas's hands and sending him crashing down.
Massimo immediately stepped forward, pinning the old ghost down with his heavy boot.
"The underworld you ruled is dead, Silas," Massimo declared, his voice echoing with absolute finality. "And the legacy I built will stand for a thousand years."
Federal agents swarmed the corridor, pulling the defeated ghost away to spend the rest of his miserable life rotting in a supermax prison. The dark cloud that had threatened to consume the family was instantly scattered.
