Chapter 6 - The Corrupt Trap

Before Dominic’s guards could sweep the alcove, Tessa slipped through a side exit leading to the mansion’s interior courtyard, sprinting silently toward the grand staircase.

She burst into Massimo’s master bedroom, breathing heavily.

Massimo was sitting in his bed, looking unusually pale and sluggish, having just finished the glass of water laced with sedatives by the corrupt doctor.

"What are you doing back in my room?" Massimo slurred, his voice heavy with unnatural exhaustion. "I told you to leave."

"Massimo, listen to me," Tessa rushed forward, dropping her phone onto his lap and hitting play.

The audio filled the quiet bedroom—Dominic’s voice plotting his permanent paralysis, laughing about stealing his throne.

Massimo’s dark eyes widened. The heavy fog of the sedative clashed violently with the sudden, blinding surge of adrenaline and pure, unadulterated rage. He stared at the phone, then up at Tessa, his chest heaving.

"Dominic..." Massimo growled, the name tearing out of his throat like a wounded wolf.

Before Massimo could grab his bedside firearm, the bedroom doors slammed open. Dominic walked in, flanked by three armed enforcers, a cold, mocking smirk plastered across his face.

"Well, well. Looks like the little therapist decided to play detective," Dominic sneered, raising his pistol directly toward Tessa.

👉 Massimo was drugged, cornered, and helpless, watching a gun aimed straight at the only person who had ever stood up to him.
