Chapter 4 - The Forced Compliance

Faced with Tessa’s unyielding stare and her chilling ultimatum, the formidable mafia boss slowly realized she wasn't bluffing. She would literally drag him across the floor by his arms if she had to.

Jaw clenched so tight it ached, Massimo dropped his hands from the wheels and let out a harsh, defeated sigh through his teeth.

"Fine," Massimo muttered, his voice dripping with bitter humiliation. "Do it your damn way."

Tessa unlocked the brakes, her expression remaining professional and composed. She wheeled him into the tiled shower stall, secured the transfer bench, and began the grueling process of assisting him. Every movement was agonizing for Massimo—not physically, but psychologically. For a man who ruled through absolute power, needing a woman to wash his body was a form of psychological torture.

He sat in silence, staring at the running water, his broad shoulders tense as stone.

When they finished, Tessa wrapped a fresh towel around his waist and wheeled him back to his bedroom. As she handed him a change of clothes, her sharp eyes noticed a heavy, encrypted satellite phone buzzing violently on his mahogany nightstand.

The caller ID displayed a single name: Dominic.

Massimo’s face darkened instantly. He ignored the phone, waving a dismissive hand at Tessa. "Get out. You're done for the day."

"Your underboss is calling you every twenty minutes, Massimo," Tessa noted calmly, refusing to leave just yet. "A king hiding in his bedroom while his empire burns isn't paralysis. It's cowardice."

👉 Massimo snapped at the insult, but little did Tessa know, Dominic’s phone calls weren't just business—they were countdowns to an assassination.
