Chapter 13 - the shadow of the past

While Massimo was busy consolidating his empire, another threat was silently approaching. The rival gang, the ones who had orchestrated the shooting that left him paralyzed, began to realize that the beast of Boston had fully awakened.
Realizing it was impossible to assassinate Massimo now that he had fortified an absolute security perimeter, they shifted their target to the only weakness he had recently exposed: Tessa Fitzgerald.

The intuition of a woman working in a high-stress environment helped her realize the anomaly. She quickened her pace, turning into a narrow alleyway hoping to lose them. But two massive men blocked her escape route ahead.
"Where are you going in such a hurry, sweetheart? Our boss wants to send a gift to Massimo," one of them smirked coldly, drawing a gleaming dagger.
