Chapter 28 - the final execution
Claire stood up, smoothing her pristine white power suit. She didn't scream or gloat. She possessed the absolute, crushing authority of a true empire builder. The room was perfectly silent, save for the pathetic sobbing of the defeated tycoon pinned to the table.
"Extortion, massive wire fraud, and global market manipulation," claire listed clinically, staring dead into victor's terrified eyes. "I forwarded the unredacted evidence to the federal bureau of investigation this morning. Your arrest warrants were signed an hour ago."
The screaming sirens of federal police cruisers suddenly echoed from the streets below, signaling the permanent, catastrophic end of his arrogant delusions. Victor dropped to his knees on the luxurious carpet as the guards released him, violently weeping and begging for a mercy he absolutely did not deserve.
