Chapter 9 - The Ultimate Eviction

"Claire, please!" Richard sobbed hysterically, dropping to his knees on the polished hardwood floor, completely humiliating himself in front of the entire extended family. "I am your father! You can't throw us out on the street! We will have absolutely nothing!"

Claire looked down at the pathetic, weeping man on the floor. She thought about the fifty-dollar bill he had just aggressively pushed across the table to humiliate her.

"I told you," Claire whispered coldly, pointing a manicured finger at the fifty-dollar bill still resting on the white linen tablecloth. "You are going to need that money a lot more than I do."

Ethan was hyperventilating in the corner, his navy suit completely wrinkled as Vanessa screamed at him for ruining her life. The elegant relatives who had laughed at Claire just twenty minutes earlier were now silently backing away, completely terrified of the billionaire apex predator standing in front of them.

Claire didn't scream. She didn't throw a tantrum. She had executed a flawless, perfectly calculated corporate slaughter.

She turned to her grandmother, Evelyn, who was standing tall, a deeply satisfied, proud smile on her weathered face.

"Are you ready to go, Grandma?" Claire asked gently, her terrifying demeanor softening completely for the only person who had ever truly loved her.

"I absolutely am, sweetheart," Evelyn replied smoothly, grabbing her designer coat. "This turkey was dry anyway."
