Chapter 7 - The Termination
Claire looked directly into Ethan's terrified, panicking eyes.
"Ethan Vance," Claire announced, her voice booming with absolute, unquestionable authority. "Effective as of 5:00 PM today, you are officially terminated from the Vanguard Medical Group."
Ethan let out a horrific, high-pitched gasp, physically staggering backward. "Claire, please! You can't do this to me! I have a mortgage! We just bought the summer house! I'll do anything!"
"I'm not just firing you, Ethan," Claire whispered softly, leaning forward slightly so her voice carried a terrifying, untouchable power. "I forwarded the unredacted medical audits to the state medical board this morning. Your medical license is already suspended, pending a full federal investigation. You will never, ever step foot in an operating room again."
Vanessa screamed in apocalyptic terror. The thirty-something woman completely abandoned her elegant persona, clutching her hair as she realized her massive, wealthy lifestyle was permanently over. She was married to an unemployed, disgraced doctor who was about to be sued into absolute oblivion by his former patients.
"You psychotic monster!" Claire’s father, Richard, roared furiously, slamming his fist onto the Thanksgiving table. "You come into my house and destroy your sister's life?! I will ruin you! I will bankrupt your hospital!"
Claire slowly turned her intense, dark eyes toward her arrogant father.

"You can't bankrupt anyone, Dad," Claire stated coldly. "Because you are already completely broke."
