The air in the luxurious dining room instantly dropped ten degrees.
"What do you mean, malpractice audits?" Vanessa demanded frantically, standing up in her champagne-colored dress, completely terrified that her perfect, high-society marriage was about to implode. "Ethan is the best surgeon on the East Coast! He just got promoted!"
Claire slowly stood up from the Thanksgiving table. She smoothed out her elegant black blazer, projecting the absolute, crushing authority of a true billionaire CEO.
"Ethan isn't a brilliant surgeon, Vanessa," Claire explained coldly, locking eyes with her sister. "He is a butcher. My legal team spent the last three months auditing his surgical outcomes. Ethan has botched four major spinal surgeries in the last year because he refuses to follow basic safety protocols to save time."
Ethan’s face went completely, violently pale. "Claire, shut up! That is confidential hospital information!"
"Not anymore," Claire replied ruthlessly. "You bribed the previous hospital administrator to bury the patient complaints and alter the medical records. You destroyed four lives just so you could keep your perfect, pristine surgical record and get a massive bonus."
The wealthy relatives sitting around the table were completely paralyzed by the horrifying revelation.
"You're lying!" Margaret shrieked wildly, desperately trying to protect the family's elite reputation. "Ethan is a good man! You are just jealous of Vanessa's success!"
Claire didn't even look at her mother. She reached into her small designer clutch purse and pulled out a sleek, encrypted black cell phone.
