Chapter 10 - The New Dojo

A month later, the video Walter recorded had gone completely viral.
Blake’s martial arts licenses were permanently revoked by the state board. He was utterly disgraced, unable to find work at any legitimate gym in the country, forced to take a minimum-wage job just to pay off the massive legal fees from the child endangerment lawsuit.
Mr. Sterling’s gym suffered a massive drop in enrollment due to the scandal.
But Evan didn't stop training.
Damon didn't take him back to a commercial dojo. Instead, he cleared out the large, empty garage at their small suburban home. He bought high-quality blue training mats, punching bags, and safety gear.
Every evening after work, Damon and Evan stepped onto the mats together.
Damon didn't yell. He didn't mock. He taught his son absolute discipline, flawless technique, and the true meaning of strength: that power is only valuable when it is used to protect those who cannot protect themselves.
Walter Briggs even stopped by occasionally, bringing coffee and watching the quiet, intense training sessions with a proud smile.

Evan grew stronger, more confident, and entirely fearless, knowing that the greatest warrior in the world wasn't a loud, arrogant champion, but the quiet, loving father who swept the floors at night.
If you were Damon, would you have told your son the full truth about your classified military past, or was keeping him in the dark the ultimate, perfect protection?
