The grand corporate headquarters felt completely secure once again. The backup generators were disabled, and the warm, bright fluorescent lights illuminated the pristine marble hallways. The terrifying cyber-storm had officially, permanently passed.
I walked into the executive boardroom. Thomas was waiting for me, his tactical gear replaced by a sharp, tailored black suit. When I entered, the brilliant security director stood up and offered a profound, respectful bow.
"You protected our empire, Emma," Thomas murmured, his voice thick with overwhelming pride. "You fought them with your mind, and you won flawlessly. You are the perfect heir to everything your father built."
I walked over, offering him a firm, deeply appreciative handshake. We were not just CEO and employee; we were a unified, flawless fortress forged in fire, standing incredibly tall. We had survived brutal betrayal, physical assaults, and now, sophisticated digital warfare.
