Chapter 6 - The Digital Guillotine

"I don't just want the fifty million, Grant," I said quietly, stepping around the table to look down at the pathetic, weeping monster who had killed my father.

I reached into the pocket of my black skirt and pulled out my smartphone. I tapped the screen once.

"While you were busy laughing at me in Arabic," I explained coldly, "I triggered a mass-send protocol on my secure server. Every single un-redacted ledger, every illegal offshore account, and all the evidence proving you murdered Arthur Sterling has just been forwarded to the FBI, the SEC, and Interpol."

Grant let out a horrific, high-pitched shriek of pure agony. He tore at his own dark hair, completely abandoning his arrogant mafia persona.

He was completely, permanently ruined. He wasn't just losing a cartel deal; he was losing his freedom, his assets, and his empire all at once.

"You destroyed my life!" Grant sobbed hysterically, crawling desperately across the pristine marble floor toward my sensible black work shoes. "I was a king! You took everything from me!"

"You took my father," I replied, entirely devoid of human mercy.

In the distance, piercing through the quiet elegance of the luxury restaurant, the loud, overlapping wails of dozens of police sirens began to echo through the city streets. They were coming fast.
