Chapter 33 - a mother's wisdom

Arthur Junior immediately drove to the sprawling, highly secured suburban estate to consult the true, original architect of their family's resilience. Emma sat calmly in her private, cedar-paneled study, listening closely as her son described the catastrophic digital threat.
She didn't show a single ounce of fear; she had survived the worst kind of deception and emerged entirely unbroken. "You are trying to fight a ghost with code, Arthur," Emma said softly, pouring a cup of warm tea with steady, elegant hands.
"But every machine, no matter how sophisticated, has a greedy, flawed human operating it from the shadows. Do not focus on the virus. Focus on the monster's fragile ego."
Arthur's eyes flashed with sudden, brilliant realization. "You're right," he said. "The hacker didn't just breach the system; he left a highly theatrical ransom message. He is extremely arrogant. He wants us to know he outsmarted us."
