Chapter 32 - the digital hostage

Arthur Junior stood in the center of the glass-walled server room, his dark eyes narrowing with intense, calculated focus. He didn't panic. He possessed the same terrifying, cold composure that had allowed his mother to completely dismantle a mafia kingpin decades ago.
He seamlessly initiated a total, immediate lockdown of the global shipping grid, severing all external connections to protect their pristine data. Suddenly, his primary monitor flickered to life. A distorted, synthesized voice echoed through the cold, heavily fortified room.
"Good evening, Sterling heir," the phantom hacker mocked. "You have exactly forty-eight hours to grant us full administrative access to your European ports. If you refuse, we will deploy a highly aggressive, untraceable virus that will permanently erase every single routing manifest in your database, crippling global trade."
The screen went completely black. The digital hostage situation was firmly established. But the Obsidian Ring had severely, fatally underestimated the unbreakable Sterling bloodline.
