Chapter 28 - the end of the scorpion
Thomas's special task force quickly subdued all the remnants of the Scorpion Gang. All servers, criminal data, and international money transfer records were cleanly confiscated by us. There was absolutely no chance for leniency.
Emma did not kill Viktor immediately. She copied all the evidence of his corruption and weapons smuggling, then anonymously sent it directly to Interpol and the world's top intelligence agencies. The Scorpion Gang was officially wiped out globally.
Hundreds of corrupt officials, those who had once backed Viktor, were simultaneously arrested overnight. The arrogance of the world's most notorious criminal organization was smashed to pieces by a chairwoman and her security director.
Emma and Thomas stepped out of the underground base as dawn began to break. The first warm rays of the new day shone down on the city of Chicago, dispelling the thick fog and the bone-chilling cold of a fierce, long night.
