Chapter 33 - the hunt
Seeing the photo of her targeted father, Caroline's eyes instantly darkened. Fury erupted fiercely in her chest, just like the night she exposed the crimes of her traitorous sister.
"Do they think I will yield?" Caroline hissed, slamming the photo onto the glass desk. "Upgrade the security at the estate to the highest level. No one is allowed to approach my father without my direct permission."
Thomas nodded. "I investigated the source of the file. The Blackwood group wants to use it to blackmail us, forcing the transfer of ownership for the high-tech patents the company is developing."
"Anyone who dares to threaten this family will be crushed to dust," Caroline declared coldly. She did not play defense; she chose a preemptive strike. "Thomas, utilize every resource, turn over every hidden corner of this city."
The entire massive intelligence and legal machinery of Caroline's empire immediately operated at maximum capacity. Dozens of investigators spread out everywhere, scrutinizing every suspicious financial transaction of the Blackwood Corporation.
