Chapter 46 - turning the tables
"The override code was accepted!" A victorious cheer erupted from the other end of the line at the cybersecurity department. The corporation's entire server network was instantly locked down, completely disconnected from the global internet.
Marcus's massive cyberattack was thwarted right at the decisive moment. He failed to steal a single core data file or siphon a single penny from Caroline's family trust fund.
But Caroline didn't just play defense. She immediately ordered her team of hackers to trace the attack signal backwards. Using the most sophisticated spyware, they successfully infiltrated his network.
The signal traced straight back to a luxury penthouse located right in the heart of Manhattan. Marcus was too arrogant, thinking he could safely hide right in plain sight.
"We are not calling the police," Caroline told Thomas, her eyes burning with an intense flame of vengeance. "The enemy wants to use the law of the jungle, we will play by the law of the jungle. I want to rip him out by the roots."
