Chapter 67 - the chaotic rescue

The element of surprise was violently shattered when a heavily armed patrol rounded the corner of the subterranean corridor. The cinematic tension exploded into sheer, deafening chaos as the quiet infiltration turned into an all-out firefight.

Caroline didn't flinch. She returned fire with absolute, lethal accuracy, her tactical training taking over completely. The concrete walls vibrated as her elite team pushed aggressively forward, overwhelming the panicked mercenaries with crushing, vastly superior firepower.

They breached the central holding cell. The heavy steel door was blown off its hinges with a shaped explosive charge.

Inside, Thomas was chained to a heavy metal chair. His tailored suit was ruined, his face heavily bruised from brutal interrogations, but his eyes lit up with profound, unadulterated relief as he saw his brilliant CEO walk through the smoke.

Caroline rushed forward, shooting the heavy chains off his wrists. "I told you I'd never leave you behind, Thomas," she stated firmly, hauling the loyal lawyer to his feet.
