Chapter 63 - the digital hunt

Caroline did not call the FBI or international authorities. She knew that federal intervention would only result in Thomas's immediate execution. This was a brutal underworld war, and she had to play by the absolute darkest rules to save him.

She activated the conglomerate's hidden, military-grade cybersecurity division. Dozens of elite, ghost-like hackers worked furiously under her direct, icy command. They analyzed the digital footprint of the ransom email, tearing apart the encrypted metadata.

"They routed the signal through multiple offshore proxy servers," the lead hacker reported, sweat beading on his forehead. "But the encryption key has a microscopic flaw. It traces back to a heavily fortified private island in the Mediterranean."

Caroline’s jaw locked into unyielding stone. The Crimson Hand thought the ocean would protect them from her wrath. They severely underestimated the vast, terrifying resources of a multi-billion-dollar empire.
