Lily didn't hesitate for a single microsecond. Moving with the terrifying, blinding speed of her father, she dropped behind the heavy mahogany desk just as the mercenaries opened fire. Suppressed bullets shattered the massive floor-to-ceiling windows.
Utilizing the shadows, Lily returned fire with absolute, lethal precision. She didn't aim wildly; she fired exactly three shots. The first two mercenaries dropped instantly to the marble floor, their weapons clattering uselessly into the darkness.
