Chapter 35 - the digital snare

Clara didn't rely on the FBI or international cybersecurity experts. She contacted the deep underground network in Chicago that Arthur had secretly controlled. A specialized team of invisible, genius hackers was summoned urgently to the bunker.
During forty-eight hours of extreme tension, Lily worked relentlessly with the agents to trace the digital breach. She isolated the malicious code used to disable the security grid, tracing it to a specific server.
"They are routing the IP addresses through shell companies in Eastern Europe," Lily analyzed, her eyes reflecting the cold light from the screens. "But their attack algorithm has a microscopic flaw. They are being entirely too aggressive."
Clara stood right behind her, her hand gently placed on her sturdy shoulder. "Use that very aggression to destroy them, Lily. Set a digital trap. Let them think they have successfully breached our banking systems, and then we lock the doors completely."
