Chapter 68 - the final eviction

The grand ballroom erupted into absolute, deafening chaos. The hundreds of journalists simultaneously pointed their flashing cameras at Richard and the disgraced rival CEO, documenting their complete, humiliating downfall in real-time.

Before either man could attempt to flee through the crowded exit, the heavy mahogany doors swung open. A squad of federal white-collar crime investigators marched straight onto the dance floor, holding signed arrest warrants for extortion and corporate fraud.

Richard dropped to his knees on the polished marble floor, weeping pathetically as heavy steel handcuffs clicked sharply around his wrists. He looked up at Clara, desperately begging for the mercy he had never once shown her decades ago.

Clara looked down at the broken, sobbing man without a single ounce of human pity. She clearly remembered the freezing, merciless winter night he had abandoned them to die in the snow.
