Chapter 72 - the digital breach

Lily was studying in the grand library when the heavy, impenetrable darkness swallowed the mansion. The backup generators failed to engage, indicating a highly coordinated external override. She didn't panic or scream for the guards.

Inheriting Arthur's terrifyingly cold composure, Lily calmly pulled a sleek, encrypted tablet from her massive mahogany desk. She bypassed the compromised mainframe, accessing the isolated, analog security feeds hidden throughout the building.

Arthur marched into the library, his lead security director resting easily beside him. Clara was right there, her face a mask of absolute, unyielding stone. They operated as a flawless, highly lethal unit.

"It's not a physical assault, Dad," Lily reported, her fingers flying across the glowing screen with blinding speed. "They hijacked the central servers. They are demanding fifty million dollars in untraceable cryptocurrency, or they leak our data."
