Chapter 37 - the fatal counterstrike

Julian laughed, mockingly tapping his gold watch. "Fifty seconds, Lily. Your entire empire is about to burn to the ground. Your father's legacy is finished."

Lily smirked, an incredibly dark, dangerous expression. "I entirely agree, Julian. But it isn't our empire that is burning today." She tapped a single button on her encrypted console. The massive digital screens behind her instantly flared to life.

The screens didn't show our compromised data. They displayed irrefutable, crystal-clear evidence: Julian’s offshore bank accounts, the cryptocurrency transfers to the corporate mercenaries who had attacked our tower, and his secret, treasonous emails.

The Apex hackers had greedily taken Lily's bait. When they broke through the firewall she had intentionally weakened, they flooded into an isolated server. The trap snapped shut, and Lily's malware surged back, stealing all of Julian's data.
