A heart-stopping medium shot captured Caesar skidding to a violent stop, his heavy claws aggressively scraping against the polished marble floor. He stopped mere inches away from the tiny, barefoot girl in the pale-pink dress.
The heavy, suffocating silence was deafening. The terrified bodyguards completely froze, holding their breath. Elena physically collapsed against the mahogany wall, unable to reach her daughter in time.
Maya didn't scream. She didn't flinch or try to run away from the massive, terrifying predator.

"Dante..." Maya whispered softly, her sweet voice echoing clearly across the dead-silent hallway. "There you are."
An emotional medium shot captured an absolute impossibility. The terrifying, lethal Cane Corso suddenly lowered his massive, muscular frame directly to the marble floor. He let out a soft, gentle whine and rested his enormous, heavy head gently on Maya's bare foot, completely surrendering to the seven-year-old girl.
The bodyguards gasped in stunning realization. No one had ever been able to touch the aggressive guard dog without losing a hand.
