Chapter 25 - the invisible snare

The Obsidian hackers greedily continued their digital assault, completely unaware they were being brilliantly outmaneuvered. As they bypassed Maya's intentionally weakened secondary firewall, the rogue algorithm flooded into a trap.

It was a highly contained, isolated server mimicking the conglomerate's primary offshore bank accounts. The Syndicate thought they had won the war. Instead, the trap snapped shut with devastating, catastrophic finality.

Maya’s viral counter-code didn't just lock the Obsidian virus out; it violently surged back through its own connection. It systematically overloaded and destroyed the incredibly expensive hardware of the Syndicate's global network in seconds.

"We have their physical location, Maya," Leo announced, his voice ringing with absolute, triumphant authority. "The central authentication server isn't in Rome. It is located in a heavily fortified, abandoned subterranean military bunker hidden deep in the snowy mountains of Switzerland."
