Chapter 9 - The Apex Predator

The cinematic realism of the chaotic, terrifying ambush completely overwhelmed the estate.
The Marcone syndicate hadn't just sent a warning; they had sent a massive, heavily armed strike team to completely annihilate the mansion. Heavy automatic gunfire echoed aggressively from the courtyard.
"Get them to the vault!" Gabriel roared, completely abandoning his emotional vulnerability.
The elite bodyguards immediately swarmed Elena and Maya, aggressively pushing them toward the heavily fortified panic room hidden beneath the elegant staircase. Caesar, the massive black Cane Corso, aggressively stayed right by Maya's side, barking furiously at the front doors.
Gabriel didn't run to the vault. He stood in the center of the enormous marble hallway, radiating the crushing, undeniable, and absolute authority of a true mafia king.
He pulled a sleek, encrypted radio from his black suit jacket. He didn't call for the police. He dialed a direct line to his most ruthless, highly trained enforcers stationed around the city.
"The Marcones are in my house," Gabriel commanded flawlessly into the radio, his deep voice entirely devoid of human mercy. "I want their entire syndicate burned to the completely ground by midnight. Do not let a single one of them leave this property alive."
