Chapter 18 - the boardroom execution
The massive mahogany boardroom was packed with the most powerful executives in the city. Marcus Sterling sat near the head of the table, wearing a smug, arrogant smile. He believed his cyberattack had severely weakened Dominic's position.
Dominic walked into the room, exuding an absolute, terrifying calm. I stood silently by the heavy glass doors, my posture completely relaxed but my eyes tracking every single movement.
"Gentlemen," Dominic began, his voice echoing with lethal precision. "We have recently suffered a massive, highly coordinated cyberattack against our core energy patents. It was a sophisticated attempt to completely destroy this company."
Marcus feigned concern, shaking his head. "It is a tragedy, Dominic. Perhaps it is time we discuss a change in our security protocols. The board is losing faith."
Dominic smirked, an incredibly dark, dangerous expression. "I entirely agree, Marcus."
He tapped a button on his console. The massive digital screens behind him instantly lit up, displaying irrefutable, crystal-clear evidence: Marcus’s offshore bank accounts, the cryptocurrency transfers to the hackers, and his secret, treasonous emails with Apex Global.
