Chapter 3 - The Smashed Cake

When I arrived at the entrance hall, soaking wet and shivering, the billionaire's fiancée took one look at me and decided I was going to be her entertainment for the evening.
Vanessa hated the fact that a "peasant" had tracked rainwater onto her immaculate black-and-white marble floor. But what she hated even more was when I unzipped my raincoat, revealing the sleek, elegant red silk dress underneath. The wealthy male guests in the room immediately stopped talking, their eyes locking onto me.
Vanessa’s toxic, insecure jealousy flared into pure hatred.
As I carefully handed her the heavy cake box, she intentionally, maliciously jerked her hands back.
The massive cake plummeted to the marble floor, exploding in a shower of expensive vanilla icing and crushed fondant.
"Look what you did, you stupid girl!" Vanessa had screamed, loudly gaslighting me in front of the entire party to humiliate me. "You ruined my engagement party! Who let this trash into my home?"
That was the moment she raised her hand to strike me. And that was the moment I put her on the floor with a high kick.
Now, we were back in the present. Vanessa was sprawled in the cake frosting, gasping for air. The surrounding wealthy guests were frozen in absolute shock, spilling their champagne as they watched the "broke delivery girl" effortlessly take down the arrogant host.
I stayed in my defensive martial arts stance on the floor, breathing steadily, my eyes tracking every single movement in the room.

But during my lightning-fast movement, something had shifted. A heavy silver pendant slipped out from beneath the neckline of my red silk dress, gleaming brilliantly under the warm light of the crystal chandeliers.
👉 I thought I was just defending myself, but the billionaire standing in the doorway was about to recognize the ghost hanging from my neck.
