Chapter 11 - the new dawn

The morning after Marcus's execution, the grand American mansion felt entirely different. The suffocating, oppressive gloom that had choked the estate for two years vanished completely.
Warm, golden sunlight poured through the massive crystal windows, illuminating the pristine marble floors. Elena, wearing a soft, flowing silk robe, walked slowly down the grand staircase. She was still adjusting to the breathtaking reality of her freedom.
Dante was waiting for her at the bottom of the stairs. The terrifying mafia boss looked up at his wife, his dark eyes filled with absolute, unwavering devotion. He gently took her hand, kissing her knuckles with profound, heartbreaking reverence.
"Welcome back to the light, my queen," Dante murmured, his deep, gravelly voice thick with overwhelming emotion.
Elena smiled, a genuine, beautiful expression that instantly erased the dark, bloody shadows from his soul. They walked into the grand dining room, where a lavish breakfast was already prepared.
Rosa, no longer in her crisp maid uniform but wearing an elegant, tailored navy suit, directed the staff with flawless efficiency. And sitting at the very head of the long mahogany table, swinging her little legs happily, was Sophia.
The three-year-old was wearing a brand new, incredibly fluffy pink dress. She waved her small hand enthusiastically at the imposing mafia boss.
