The FBI arrived exactly twenty minutes later, completely securing the dam and rounding up the remnants of the international syndicate. Julian’s confession, recorded by my security cameras, ensured the entire corrupt board was sent to maximum-security federal prison.
As dawn broke over the beautiful Chicago skyline, Dominic and I stood exhausted but completely victorious on the massive concrete wall of the dam, watching the golden sunrise reflect perfectly across the calm waters.
